The Braves opened up the season at the Antelope Valley Tournament with a trio of losses against Eastside-Lancaster, Paraclete and Lancaster, but closed out with a 53-32 victory over Avalon.
Tehachapi (1-3) was led in scoring by AJ Sanchez, Brandon Neaderbaomer and Matthew Finklea, who all had 10 points. Bryson Sheen led the team in rebounds while Zach King was the leader in assists.
“We were tested in these first few games. Our mindset improved over the course of the week and we are confident going into Tuesday against Burroughs,” said head coach Nick Phillips.
The Braves will take on Burroughs this Tuesday, Dec. 5, with a 5:15 p.m. start time in the THS gym.
