The Tehachapi Valley Wrestling Club has been busy competing in the Kern County Wrestling Association tournament schedule.
The CSUB Roadrunner Bash was held April 1 at Centennial High School, with 570 wrestlers ages 5 through 18 competing in various weight classes.
TVWC wrestlers had three wrestlers earn 3rd place medals, including: Bantam Division 60 pounds — Kayden Gonzales; Intermediate 55 pound — Stephen Meek; and Levi Hart — Novice 80 pounds. Jairdan Medina, Novice 75 pound, and Elijah Graves, Schoolboy 105 pound, placed 4th. Others competing were Rookie Jordan Cardenas, Bantam Gabriel Cordova, Dalton Vaughan, Jacob Cardenas, Intermediate Jacob Mesa, Novice Cayden Castrellon, and Julian Cardenas.
Wrestlers of the Week for their outstanding performances were Stephan Meek and Jairdan Medina.
On April 8, TVWC competed at Foothill’s Jr. Trojan Tournament. Stephan Meek at Intermediate 60 was the team’s only champion. Bantam wrestler Gabriel Cordova, Kayden Gonzales and Novice Jairdan Medina were runner ups and Bantam Dalton Vaughan and Angel Hernandez placed 3rd. Rookie Jordan Cardenas placed 4th.

On April 15, Frontier High held the Elite Force tournament. Rookie division wrestler Jordan Cordova showed his determination with winning his first Champion Medal. Bantam wrestler Kayden Gonzales, Novice Levi Hart and Schoolboy Elijah Graves also won their weight classes. Stephan Meek placed 2nd at Intermediate 60 pounds and Angel Hernandez was 3rd at 55 pounds. Dalton Vaughan fell short of placing.
Wrestlers of the week were Elijah Graves and Jordan Cordova.
