The Tehachapi Gryphon's Soccer Club will hold free tryouts for its 2017 fall youth soccer program on Saturday, April 29, at Meadowbrook Park, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.
Individuals need attend only one 2-hour tryout session and a parent or guardian will need to fill out and sign a liability waiver. Tryouts are for girls and boys born 2004 through 2008. Players will be notified within the week if they make the team. Space is limited.
The season starts on Monday, Aug. 21, and games will be played on Saturdays from Sept. 9 through Nov. 4. Practices will be held twice a week. The cost for the season is $100, which includes two training shirts. A completed registration form, club fee and an original birth certificate will be required if a player makes the team. Note: Birth certificates will not be required for returning players.
The goal of the Tehachapi Gryphon's Soccer Club is to develop soccer skills and abilities in a competitive environment and allow maximum growth. The long-term goal is to develop a team that will bring home a championship to Tehachapi High School.
