The Warriors boys soccer team is 3-3 and already has had a better season that it did a year ago.

"So far, it's been a lot better season," coach Dennis Wolfe said. "We've already passed our win total from last year."

The Warriors lost their only game last week, 2-0 to Burroughs at Ridgecrest on Tuesday, Dec. 6. It was their second straight loss after winning three of their first four games.

Last season, Warriors went 2-20 and didn't win a South Yosemite League game.

The Warriors were scheduled to start their 2016-17 SYL season at home against Ridgeview on Monday, Dec. 12, then go into a two-day tournament at Garces beginning on Friday, Dec. 16.

Last season, the Warriors couldn't buy a goal. This year, junior Noe Kingsburgy already has three goals, and Kyle Huebner, another junior, has two.

"We start league ... and then have the Garces tournament this next weekend so we'll see how it goes," Wolfe said.
