The Warriors girls golf team traveled to Bakersfield and played at Kern River Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Six girls played nine holes of golf against five other schools from the South Yosemite League. Bethany Stainfield led the way with a 53 and Sydni Marsh scored a 55. Sydni Burt shot her first Birdie on the 3rd hole par 5. Chloe Shadduck scored her first par on the par 6th hole.

It was our first match of the year and we are a very young team and I was very pleased at how well we played. It was the first tournament for Shadduck and Kira Pankow; both shot a 67 and conducted themselves liked seasoned golfers.

Tehachapi High tied with Independence High with a total score of 306. We have a young team and I think we're just going to get better as we gain experience and practice. We have a core group of hard workers who continue to improve every day at practice.
