The Lady Warriors concluded the SEYL season by defeating Foothill 20-3 and losing closely contested game to league champion Garces, 11-6.
Taylor Cummings fueled the bats in the victory over Foothill by going 4-5 with four runs scored and two doubles. Brenna Dezubiria, Hannah Grimes and Kendall Kapitzke each had two hits, Danay Lee had a three-run homerun and Mariah Godde had a double in other offensive highlights.
Godde picked up the win in the circle with three strikeouts in two innings and Emily Mejia led the team in putouts with six on the afternoon.
In the league finale over Garces last Friday, the Lady Warriors took a 3-1 lead over the Rams after two innings, but Garces pulled away in the fifth and sixth innings to finish the regular season undefeated.
Kapitzke went 3-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and a runs scored and Michaela Peters and Dezubiria each had two hits in the defeat. Godde also had a double in the game and pitched all seven innings for the Lady Warriors.
Tehachapi (17-11-1; 8-2 SEYL) will move on to the CIF Division III playoffs this week as the No. 6 seed, facing off against No. 11 seed Golden Valley at home this Wednesday starting at 4 p.m. The winner will travel to No. 3 seed Hanford this Friday afternoon.
Junior Varsity finishes SEYL undefeated
The Lady Braves capped a perfect league season last week with a 17-2 victory over Foothill and a 16-0 win over Garces to finish as undefeated Southeast Yosemite League champions.

In the frosh-soph contest, the Lady Indians won their final game of the regular season with a 16-7 victory over Foothill to finish the season with a 8-3 (7-3 SEYL) record.
Elisabeth Bathgate hit a double and scored a run and Madison Burgeis had three hits, two doubles and scored four runs in the win. Julia Whelan pitched for the Indians, striking out 11 batters in five innings.
