Mountain Tennis notches league wins

Tehachapi (11-8; 6-1 SEYL) recovered from their first league loss of the season against Garces to post two-straight wins this past week, defeating East 6-3 and Highland 9-0.

Against East, Justin Ostrem (7-6, 7-5), Branden Dunn (6-2, 6-2), Wyatt Newman (6-2, 6-2), Eric Bilotta (6-3, 6-0), Ostrem-Newman (6-1, 6-2) and Spencer Rosas — Colton Main (6-2, 6-0) were victorious. Helping to record the shutout against Highland were Simon Weber (6-2, 6-0), Ostrem (6-3, 6-1), Dunn (7-5, 6-2), Newman (6-0, 6-1), Bilotta (6-3, 6-2), Ryan Garcia (3-6, 6-3, 10-7), Weber-Dunn (6-0, 6-1), Ostrem-Newman (6-2, 6-2) and Rosas-Main (5-7, 7-6, 10-7).

The previous week, Mountain Tennis also defeated Foothill 7-2, with Ostrem (6-0, 6-3), Newman (6-3, 6-3), Rosas (6-2, 6-1), Garcia (6-2, 6-2), Mitchell Marquez (7-5, 6-4), Ostrem-Newman (8-1) and Garcia-Rosas (8-2) posting wins. In junior varsity action, the Braves have an overall record of 13-1 and an undefeated 7-0 record in league. In recent matches, Tehachapi has defeated Foothill (8-1), Garces (9-0), East (9-0) and Highland (9-0). Recording victories in all four team wins have been Jack Brewer, Ethan Zehr, Carson Kolb, Trent Botbyl, Mark Henderson, Chandler Cazares, Seth Lum, Aidan Moon, Tristan Crane and Dorian Dirksen. Mountain Tennis will play against Foothill (varsity away and jayvee home) this Thursday.
