The Water Warriors had a handful of swimmers compete in this past weekend’s CIF Division I Championships at Clovis North High School.
Highlighting Mountain Swimming’s effort was Sean Banks, who took 15th place in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:07.37 and 15th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.13. The 200 freestyle relay team of Teddy Diefenderfer, Andy Smith, Zachary Gaylord and Andrew Sparling also took 15th with a time of 1:37.79.
Tehachapi also recently competed in the SEYL finals, with the Warriors taking second place and the girls taking fourth place.
Winning league championships in their respective varsity events was Zachary Gaylord (200 freestyle – 2:06.58), Teddy Diefenderfer, Andy Smith, Andrew Sparling, Alan Ayers (200 freestyle relay -1:38.38) and Sean Banks (100 breaststroke – 1:05.45).
