The Lady Warriors juggernaut continued to steamroll through the Southeast Yosemite League last week with a pair of game sweeps over Foothill and North.
Mountain Volleyball defeated Foothill 25-12, 25-12, 25-13 behind eight kills from Tiffany Short, seven kills from Kendall Kapitzke, and a combined 15 kills from Elayna Cramer, Danielle Simpson and Kim Smith.
Samantha Wallace was the leader in assists with 29, while Kayleigh Jarrett had 10 digs and Wallace and Simpson combined for seven aces. Cramer and Smith also had a strong game in the frontcourt with four and three blocks, respectively.
Against North, the Lady Warriors won 25-10, 25-16, 25-16 behind 11 kills from Smith, eight kills from Destiny Julye, and a combined 18 kills from Simpson, Short and Cramer.
Wallace had 32 assists in the game, Cramer had seven blocks, and Jarrett led in digs with five recorded.
After the latest two victories, some notable achievements have surfaced for Mountain Volleyball.
Tehachapi (26-0; 4-0 SEYL) is the only undefeated team in the central California and joins Gregori-Modesto, Archbishop Mitty-San Jose and Xavier Prep-Palm Desert High Schools as the only undefeated Division II teams in the state.
The Lady Warriors also have the most overall wins (26) in California. The next closest team state-wide is Gregori with 24 victories.
With the first half of SEYL play nearly complete, the stage is set for the biggest match of the year this Tuesday against Garces.
The Rams come into the contest against Tehachapi with an identical 4-0 SEYL record.
League title aspirations for both teams will be on the line against Garces. The varsity match will start at 6:30 p.m. at Tehachapi High School.
The Lady Braves extended their league record to 3-1 after a 25-15, 25-19 win over Foothill and 25-14, 25-22 win over North last week.
Kirsten Medovitch and Taylor Fritz led Tehachapi with four kills each in the win over North, while Brooke Boyd had four aces, Presslee Gallegos 14 assists and Kirstin Kabonic three digs.
In the sweep over Foothill, Boyd had a team-high seven kills and Fritz and Gallegos each had two aces. Veronica Molidor also recorded a block and Madison Stone and Kaeleigh Aitchison had a combined seven digs.
Tehachapi (2-2 SEYL) split the week with a 28-26, 17-25, 11-15 loss to Foothill and a 25-9, 25-19 victory over North.
Tessa Watts, Kaylee Lambert, Savannah Raighn, Lizzie Segovia, Amanda Lara and Adrianne Jacobs combined for 13 kills in the match, while Roni Norris was the leader in aces with five.
Against North, Norris had two kills in the win while Watts, Lara, Lambert, Valerie Malcom, Alex Caballero and Alex Peacon all had a combined 13 aces.
