Tehachapi resident Sean Banks was chosen as one of four 13 to 14-year-old male swimmers from the Central California Swimming region, to compete in the Western Zone Age Group Championship, Aug. 7-10, in Roseville.

The competition is one of the most competitive age-group swimming events in the country, featuring some of the fastest regional swimmers from the 13 western states, including Alaska and Hawaii.

The CCS zone team consists of 31 swimmers in the 10 and under, 11-12, and 13-14 male and female age groups.

Banks trains with the Bakersfield Aquatics Club under Head Coach Charlie Pike.
