Mountain Soccer recently closed out their pre-season schedule with four games in the South Tournament in Bakersfield, tying Ridgeview and South by identical 1-1 scores.
Tehachapi (3-7-2) had nine shots on goal against Ridgeview, with Ashley Villegas connecting on a first half goal off an assist from Eva Rowe. At keeper, Ashley Rush had a first half shutout with three saves and Sarah Forbes had five saves in the second period.
Against South, Miranda Mistretta scored in the first half to help put the Lady Warriors up, 1-0. However, the Rebels would record the equalizer later in the first period for the eventual 1-1 tie. Tehachapi had seven shots on goal against South. Defensively, Rush had six saves and a second half shutout and Forbes had two saves in first half action.
The Lady Warriors also recorded a 3-0 loss to East and a 2-1 loss to Golden Valley in the tournament. Forbes had six saves and a second half shutout against East, with Rush also recording five saves against the Blades. In the match against Golden Valley, Mistretta had a first half goal, with Rush recording four saves and a second half shutout and Forbes six saves in the first half.
Earlier last week, Mountain Soccer hosted Independence in a 2-0 loss at home. Rush had 11 saves in the first half and Forbes had four saves in the second half.
The Lady Warriors had their SEYL opener against Foothill this Tuesday and highlights of that contest will be available next week. The next SEYL game will be this Thursday at Garces and at East next Tuesday. Both matches will start at 6 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. for the varsity and jayvee team, respectively.
