Girls soccer club shows teamwork
The Tehachapi Gryphons girls soccer club has put in a great effort this season, posting a record of 4-4-1.
The team was lead offensively by Destinee Griswold, scoring 13 goals. Griswold is backed by a solid supporting team that includes Micah Mason's solid mid-field play, of being in the right spot to help the team. Kamryn Burdick has played well at outside-mid, initiating many of Griswold's scoring opportunities. Overall the team has played better each week.
"I am very proud of this group of girls considering they play in a boys league, they are representing Tehachapi soccer the right way," said Coach Josh Perris.
The Gryphons defense has been lead by Lea Mason, Jacky Padilla, Courtney Snell and goal-keeper Molly Miller.
"Our age range is fourth grade to ninth grade, and I couldn't be more proud of the new younger girls that have stepped up and helped the team be successful," Perris said.
