Wrestlers compete in SSL Finals

In addition to hosting the South Sequoia League wrestling finals Saturday, the Tehachapi wrestling team sent three Warriors to the championships and claimed titles in the 120 and 160-pound classes.

Wrestling at 120 pounds Fletcher Allen defended his SSL title defeating Shafter's Joe Ramirez, 8-0. In the 160-pound bout, THS junior Dillan Harroun battled to a 10-7 victory over Wasco's Jose Robledo. Tehachapi grappler Jacob Gamble finished third.

Earlier in week

A major decision win at 126 pounds by Klayton Duxbury helped win the day for Tehachapi, securing a close 28-22 win over McFarland in dual action last week.

The win marked the second straight win for the Warriors in South Sequoia League dual action, with a win also logged against Arvin.

Duxbury recorded an 11-2 major decision win to help fuel the victory, while Fletcher Allen (120 pounds), Cole Rynders (152 pounds), Dillan Harroun (160 pounds) and Jerry Castaneda (170 pounds) won by forfeit.

    The news that the Pahnamid Wind Energy project has been withdrawn from the County Planning Office is good news to most of us up here on the mountain. After spending several million dollars between the City of Tehachapi’s General Plan, the County’s Specific Plan, and the Kern Council of Government’s “Blueprint,” it would be foolish to start making zoning changes at the first opportunity.
