The Warriors got their season off to a strong start with a second place finish in the first Southeast Yosemite League Tournament of the year, barely losing to tourney winner Garces by three strokes.
Tehachapi carded at 466 as a team, led by Lance Mitchell (90), Joshua Corona (91), Joe Barba (94), Max Weisenseel (95) and Ben Farinas (96). Cross Kapaun also came in with a score of 98 to round out the THS showing.
Garces won the mini-tournament with a 463, while Highland (517) took third and North (570) took fourth. East and Foothill did not have enough golfers to tally a team score.
Tehachapi will be in action again this Thursday for another SEYL mini at Rio Bravo Country Club. Tee off will be at 12 p.m.
