The Warriors offense came alive last Tuesday on the road in a 7-0 victory over Garces.
Tehachapi (8-7; 4-4 SEYL) had two hat tricks in the game, with Freddy Benitez and Abraham Katona both scoring three goals apiece.
Mountain Soccer jumped out to a 2-0 lead before halftime when Katona scored two goals, his first on an assist from Benitez and the second on an assist from Tyler Kroeger.
The Warriors put the game away for good in the second period, with Katona capping his hat trick with another assist by Benitez.
The scoring momentum continued with three-straight goals by Benitez, with assists by Matt Cardenas, David Larz and Kroeger.
David Veszpeller put the icing on the cake in the win when he dribbled the ball past two defenders for the seventh goal.
Zach Satton recorded his fourth shutout of the season at keeper, closing with four saves.
Two days later against East, Tehachapi suffered a 1-0 loss to the Blades, with Satton closing with seven saves.
In the junior varsity ranks, the Braves (6-11-1; 2-6 SEYL) had a 4-0 loss to East, with Trent Botbyl recording four saves on eight shots. The Braves' offense had 16 shots in the game, eight coming on goal but none finding the back of the net.
The Warriors and Braves will be in action again this Thursday at home against North in the regular season finale. The game will start at 4:30 p.m. for the Braves and 6 p.m. for the Warriors.
The Division III CIF Playoffs will begin next week for the THS varsity squad.
