After a successful season that brought a CIF Division II runner-up and SEYL championship, the Lady Warriors volleyball team recently achieved a rank of No. 98 in the state and No. 704 in the nation according to maxpreps.com this past weekend.
The California state playoffs are still currently being played, so Mountain Volleyball’s final ranking could fluctuate within the next month. However, the current rankings are one of the highest recorded in THS history.
Maxpreps began compiling national and state rankings for volleyball during the 2007 season. During that time period, Tehachapi’s final rankings were as follows: (2012 – 2,558 nation & 249 state, 2011 – 5,586 nation & 465 state, 2010 – 4,410 nation & 381 state, 2009 – 692 nation & 118 state, 2008 – 1,960 nation & 232 state, 2007 – 2,928 nation & 342 state.)
Tehachapi (32-4; 10-0 SEYL) had even more impressive ranking results within the California Division II standings, with a winning percentage that was No. 7 on a list of 252 teams.
