The Tehachapi Lady Trojans travel softball clubs; 14u and 16u teams played in a breast cancer awareness tournament in Bakersfield Oct. 6 and 7. Both teams finished as runnerups in the Pretty in Pink Tournament. Both teams played hard the first day, the 16u team won two games and tied the Worth Westside Bullets 2-2, a fully sponsered team by Worth, and players from all over Northern California.
The 14u team was competive durng the first day, It should be noted that 3/4 of the team are actually league 12u and have a league age 11 years old playing on their team. The 14u made some adjustments the next day and beat the Bakersfield Nitro 10-4, which had beat the Lady trojans 15-0 the day before. That win got them to the championship round were they lost to the Bakersfield Heatwave 7-1.
The 16u team were playing in a 18u bracket and made it to the Championship round and played that Worth Westside Bullets Team again, where they gave them a run for their money, but after some controversy and misunderstanding, the bullets were able to pull out the win.
These two teams that have represented our community at various tournaments, and have been traveling to different communties to play friendly games; and a fall ball league in Lancaster, which will be wrapping up with a Championship Tournament at the Best of the West Fields in Palmdale Nov. 17 and 18. Good luck girls and good luck to our 12u team. Lets do this!
