Tehachapi Cross Country completed the regular season by competing in the SEYL finals at Hart Park this past Thursday.
Running in five divisions, the Warriors finished strong after a tough start in league duals earlier this season.
The Varsity men had a strong performance after a tough 1-4 first half of league play, living up to their efforts by finishing third overall in the meet and ending SEYL play at 4-6 for the season and a fourth place finish overall.
Kevin Rooney (17:04) was 10th overall and medaled in the run, while Cameron Gamble posted a 16:29 to finish third overall and distinction as an all-league runner.
The Lady Warriors ended the varsity’s day on a strong note, overcoming an SEYL 1-4 match output to finish second overall in the final race and finish the year at 5-5 and a third place league standing. Jessica Perreault (19:39) and Alexis Namey (19:49) ran sixth and seventh place and were both honored with medals and all-league status.
The jayvee men placed second overall in the meet and capped off the season in second place overall in league. Garnering medals for THS were Ryan Gamblin (12:01) in fourth place, Oscar Machado (12:16) in eighth place and Davin Domingo (12:24) in 10th place.
The Lady Braves were next and were third overall in the meet and finished third in SEYL matches on the year. Sarah Gurule (14:57) ran to a fourth place finish overall and was the lone medalist for THS in the run. Eva Rowe (15:26) and Savannah Todd (15:26) were 14th and 15th respectively for the ladies.
In the frosh-soph boys run the Indians placed three runners in the top ten and finished the season at 3-2 and third place overall in league meets. Daniel Green (12:07) finished fourth overall and medaled for his efforts. Aiden Gillam (12:24) was seventh overall and Joseph Budai (12:34) finished 10th overall. Both runners also grabbed medals in the frosh-soph run.
Next up for the Warriors is a trip to Fresno-Woodward park this Thursday to compete in the valley finals.
