The Warriors recently competed in their second SEYL dual of the season and came through with a close 35-33 victory over Highland.
Klayton Duxbury (126 pounds), Jacob Gamble (138 pounds), Zach Allen (160 pounds) and Branden Dunn (170 pounds) and all had pins, while Thomas Duran (152 pounds) won by technical fall and Dillan Harroun (182 pounds) won by forfeit.
Tehachapi also recently competed in the Kern Invite, taking 12th place out of 34 teams in attendance.
Harroun went a perfect 4-0 in the tournament and won the 182 pound title with a 11-2 major decision over a wrestler from Frontier. Earlier round wins for Harroun consisted of two pins over opponents from Golden Valley and Liberty and a 11-4 decision over a wrestler from Wasco.
Fletcher Allen won fifth place with a 5-2 record overall, capped with a 13-4 major decision over a Foothill wrestler. Allen also had a first round pin over an El Diamante wrestler and a 8-0 and 17-1 major decision over a wrestler from Centennial and Mira Monte, respectively. Allen also had victories with a pin over a Quartz Hill opponent and a 4-3 decision over another Centennial wrestler.
Duxbury had a 4-3 record and was also in a fifth place match, losing a 10-3 decision to a Centennial wrestler. However, Duxbury won early round matches with a 8-4 decision over a Selma wrestler and a default win over a Ridgeview opponent. Duxbury also had consolation round wins with a pin over an opponent from Stockdale and a 7-2 victory over a Madera South wrestler.
In other matches, Colten Eaton (120 pounds) had pins over a Cesar Chavez and Arvin opponent and Jacob Gamble (138 pounds) had pins over Arvin, Mira Monte and Stockdale wrestlers.
Thomas Duran (152 pounds) had a 6-4 decision over a Livermore wrestler and consolation victories with a 5-4 win over an opponent from East, a 10-2 major decision over a Silverado wrestler and a 10-9 decision over a Kern Valley opponent.
Zach Allen (160 pounds) had a pin over an El Diamante wrestler and Garrett Janney (106 pounds) had a 9-0 major decision over a Silverado wrestler and 3-2 decision over a Liberty wrestler. Oscar Bejar (220 pounds), Branden Dunn (160 pounds) and Andrew Lindsey (138 pounds) also competed in the Kern Invite Tournament for Tehachapi.
