Warrior tennis registers SEYL wins THS sweeps season series against East and Highland

The Lady Warriors affirmed their spot in second place in the SEYL standings this past week with a pair of runaway victories over East 9-0 and Highland 7-2.

Against East, Ashley Rush (6-0, 6-2), Carrie Brewer (6-3, 6-0), Laney Ricker (6-3, 6-1), Taylor Cummings (7-5, 7-6), Madison Johnson (6-1, 6-4) and Hannah Silitonga (6-2, 6-4) swept singles and the doubles duo of Brewer-Ricker (6-3, 7-5), Rush-Audrey Moon (6-0, 6-2) and Macaela Pryor-Isabel Tinajero (6-4, 6-3) secured the shutout.

Last Thursday afternoon against Highland, the Lady Warriors overcame a pair of losses at first and second singles to earn another match victory.

Winning in singles were Brewer (6-2, 6-1), Ricker (2-6, 7-6, 11-9), Cummings (6-7, 6-0, 10-6) and Johnson (6-1, 6-0), and doubles wins came from Rush-Jensen (9-8), Brewer-Ricker (8-4) and Silitonga-Moon (8-6).

Tehachapi (7-9; 6-1 SEYL) will have a home match against North this Tuesday and an away match against Foothill on Thursday. First serve in both contests will be at 3:30 p.m.
