Homecoming this week for Mountain Football

Tehachapi High Homecoming will be centered around the big game at Coy Burnett Field this Friday night against West-Bakersfield.

The Vikings come into the contest against Tehachapi with a 2-2 record, reeling from a loss against Frontier last Friday.

So far on the year, the Vikings have wins against two SEYL teams, a 31-21 victory over East and a 33-20 win over North.

The JV game will start at 5 p.m. and the varsity game will start at 7:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to ensure optimum seating.

This year’s homecoming theme is “Homecoming Everafter Fairytale”. Each class at THS is feverishly making floats this week in preparation for the Friday festivities. Individual float themes include seniors – Peter Pan, juniors – Cinderella, sophomores – Alice in Wonderland and freshmen – Three Little Pigs.

An early preview of the floats can be seen this Friday morning in the homecoming parade, set to start at 11 a.m. along a small route starting at the high school on East Valley Boulevard.

Finalists for Homecoming Queen this year are Jessica Perreault, Laney Ricker, Kelsey Vance, Alison Waters, Shawnee Villarreal and Madison Eberle. Vying for Homecoming King are Shawn Carpenter, Taylor Carpenter, Jonathan Roberts, Davin Domingo, Tyler Huebner and Tommy Garrett.
