Lady Warriors defeat Lake Isabella

The Lady Warriors had a tough time in pool play dropping the first three games in the Liberty Soccer Tournament last weekend. Above, Estefana Flores moves the ball up field in action against Liberty High. Earlier in the week Flores scored a goal against Kern Valley.

The Lady Warriors made a long road trip last Tuesday to Lake Isabella and came away with a convincing 3-1 win over Kern Valley.

Tehachapi had two goals scored by Ariel Diehl and one by Estefana Flores, with Ashley Villegas assisting on one of Diehl’s goals.

McKenna Wheeler and Sarah Forbes split time at keeper against Kern Valley, with Wheeler registering five saves and Forbes three saves.
Mountain Soccer also participated in the Liberty Tournament in Bakersfield this past weekend, losing three games to Liberty (5-2), Centennial (5-0) and Bakersfield (3-0).

In the game against Liberty, Diehl scored on a penalty kick and Villegas had an unassisted goal. Wheeler had 10 saves at goalie in the losing effort.

In the games against Centennial and BHS, Wheeler had 13 saves and Forbes nine saves in both games combined.

Tehachapi will continue their season this Thursday with a home match against Burroughs-Ridgecrest. Burros comes into the game with an 0-2 record and also played Kern Valley last week, losing 4-0 to the Broncs.

The Lady Warriors will also participate in the Wasco Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
