The Warriors have been steadily improving as the season has progressed, evident in a pair of impressive league wins over North (62-53) and Foothill (60-37) this past week.
Tehachapi (11-10; 3-1 SEYL) jumped out to a 24-8 lead in the first quarter against Foothill, never looking back in the blowout victory.
Isaiah Johnson led the team with 14 points, followed by Jonny Saavedra with 11 points and Dalton Scaggs with eight points.
Other leaders included Andrew Baquerizo and Dakota Medovitch each with six points and Micah Fjeld, Chris Llamas and Andrew Borst with four points apiece.
The Warriors also had a solid victory over North behind 13 points from Johnson, 11 points from Scaggs and 10 points from Saavedra. Ryan Flick also had eight points, Medovitch seven points and Caeleb Roney five points in the win.
Mountain Basketball will close out the first half of league play this Wednesday in a pivotal league game over Garces. The Rams are 2-2 in the SEYL, coming off a close 59-57 league loss against East last Friday.
The Warriors will also have a rematch with East at home this Friday evening in the THS gym.
The Braves recorded a pair of big victories in SEYL play last week, taking out North 46-30 and Foothill 63-28.
Tehachapi (7-8; 3-1 SEYL) were led in the win over Foothill by Phil Baquerizo, who had a double-double 10 points and 10 rebounds, while also adding five assists and four steals.
Other leaders in the Trojan win were Nick Madden with 12 points and three assists, and Ryan Kelly, Ryan Hanzel and Thomas Blewett each with eight points.
Against North, Madden led the team with 18 points, followed by Hanzel with eight points and Andy Smith and Baquerizo with six points each.
Tehachapi (4-6; 2-2 SEYL) split last week in league play with a 40-37 victory over North and a 40-27 loss to Foothill.
Daniel Wight led the win over North with 16 points, including a pair of game winning free throws with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter.
Also contributing in the North win was Sage Voda with six points, Bryan Cotta with five points, and Jacob Burt and Daniel Viselli each with four points.
Wight was the high scorer in the loss against Foothill with seven points. Daniel Salzman, Jake Walters, Parker Terle, Gilbert Gutierrez, Noah Whitlach also contributed in the game with a combined 16 points.
