Seven Braves called up to varsity
After finishing the year with a 7-2-1 (4-1 SEYL) record, seven Tehachapi Braves football players were called up to the varsity for the playoff game against West last Friday evening.
The new Warriors on the sideline included Jacob Gray (RB,DB), Mikal Moore (WR, DB), Ethan Averett (TE, LB), Michael Bailey (TE, LB), Connor O’Neal (OL, DL), Oscar Bejar (OL, DL) and Gabe Dodge (RB, LB).

Warrior Basketball fundraiser
The THS Warriors, Braves and Indians basketball teams will hold a fundraiser dinner at Don Juan’s Grill on Dec.3 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dinner tickets are $15 and can be purchased from any THS basketball player or coach. All proceeds benefit THS basketball. Tickets can also be purchased at the door on Dec.3.
Don Juan’s is located on 20700 South St. in Old Towne, Tehachapi.

JMS Basketball tryouts this week and next
Jacobsen Middle School will hold basketball tryouts for the sixth and seventh grade boys (2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and eighth grade girls (4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.) this Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 14-Nov. 17 at the JMS gym.
Tryouts for the sixth and seventh grade girls (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.) and eighth grade boys (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) were held last Wednesday through Saturday, Nov. 7-Nov. 10.
All students must have a physical to try out. Students will need to bring their completed physical form on the first day of tryouts. Forms are located in the JMS front office.

Sports schedule this week
Volleyball – Varsity at Lemoore, Division II playoff semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. Varsity (if they defeat Lemoore) vs. El Diamante / Independence winner, Division II CIF Championships on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.
Cross Country – Varsity at CIF Finals on Thursday, Nov.15 at Woodward Park - Fresno.
