With the preliminary rounds complete, the Lady Warriors can now officially move to the main event in a basketball showdown against Garces this Wednesday.
Tehachapi (17-3; 4-0 SEYL) set the stage for a league title matchup with the Rams by defeating two SEYL teams this week, easily dispatching North 51-35 and Foothill 49-19.
Rheanna Cowee tied a season-high in rebounds in the win over North with 25, finishing with a double-double by adding 12 points.
Danielle Simpson led the team in scoring with 16 points, while Dani Peacon had a double-double 12 points and 10 rebounds, along with seven steals. Alyssa Garcia also had five points and four steals and Kelsey Vance had four points in the win.
Against Foothill, Simpson had 14 points and nine rebounds, followed by Peacon with 11 points, Cowee with eight points, and Trevino with six points. Briana Gutierrez also had a three-pointer in the contest, finishing with five points.
The game against Garces (19-2; 4-0 SEYL) will be this Wednesday. The game will start at 6:30 p.m. in Bakersfield.
The Lady Braves recorded a thrilling league victory last week, defeating North 41-35 in overtime with a 8-2 scoring edge in the extra period.
Madeleine Cass and Brandi Davidson each had 12 points in the win over North, while Shelby Ricker had five points and Leja Jakstaite and Brooke Boyd had four points each.
Tehachapi (14-1; 4-0 SEYL) also cruised to a 39-20 win over Foothill last Friday, with Davidson finishing with eight points and Angelika Kroeger seven points.
Daisy Moran, Kiera Peck, Brooke Boyd, Elayna Cramer, Brooke Langston, Jakstaite and Cass also combined for 24 points in the victory.
The Lady Indians (6-3; 3-1 SEYL) had two league wins this past week with a 30-9 win over North and a 23-18 victory over Foothill.
Tessa Watts led the team in scoring with seven points along with 10 steals and Kirsten Medovitch had a team high 10 rebounds along with four points in the win over North.
Rebecca Kirk, Malori Minjares, Carissa Hall, Montana Frey, Alex Caballero, Brianna Mendez, Taylor Cummings and Amanda Lara accounted for the other 19 points against the Stars.
Against Foothill, the Indians had a 12-3 third quarter to help pull away from the Trojans, with Medovitch leading the team with 13 points.
Madison Cornell also had two rebounds, a steal and an assist in the Foothill win.
