Highland came into their second league match with the Warriors riding high on an undefeated record in league play.

But by the time the evening was over, Tehachapi (17-6-1; 4-3-1 SEYL) avenged an earlier season loss to the Scots with a resounding 3-1 victory.

Freddy Benitez recorded the first goal for the Warriors off a Jose Barajas assist, and Barajas then proceeded to score the next two goals for Mountain Soccer to clinch the big win.

David Veszpeller was credited with an assist off of one of the Barajas goals.

The Warriors also had a 2-2 tie this past Friday over North, scoring both of their goals in first half action.

Victor Rodriguez recorded an assist off a corner shot to Cameron Gamble on Tehachapi’s first goal, and Barajas then scored off a Gamble assist.

Zach Satton had 15 saves in the win over Highland and five saves in the tie against North.

Tehachapi will close out league play this week with a home game against Foothill on Wednesday and an away contest against Garces on Friday.
