The Lady Warriors ended the regular season with one of the best records in the county, closing with over 20 wins and a second place finish in the Southeast Yosemite League.
Tehachapi (21-5; 8-2 SEYL) defeated North 70-54 and Foothill 56-23 before dropping the league finale to Garces last Thursday, 62-42.
Danielle Simpson led the win over North with a double-double 22 points and 10 rebounds along with two blocked shots, while Dani Peacon also had a double-double with 14 points and 12 assists.
Alyssa Garcia had 19 points along with four steals and four assists and Rheanna Cowee also had 10 points and seven rebounds to aide in the win.
Against Foothill, Simpson and Garcia had 18 and 15 points respectively and Cowee had a team leading 10 rebounds. Kelsey Vance and Briana Gutierrez also had four points each, Brooke Hurt six rebounds, Laney Ricker five rebounds and Lexi Garrett with four steals.
In the league finale against Garces, Vance and Cowee each had team leading nine rebounds and Garcia led the scoring with 12 points.
Mountain Basketball will begin the CIF Division III playoffs this week, with first round games scheduled for Tuesday and quarterfinal games slated for Thursday.
The Lady Indians closed their season with a 25-14 victory over North and a 23-19 win over Foothill to finish in second place in the SEYL.
Tehachapi (11-4; 8-2 SEYL) was led in the win over North by Tessa Watts with seven points and five steals and Carissa Hall with four points and three rebounds. Kristen Medovitch, Rebecca Kirk, Montana Frey, Alex Caballero, Brianna Mendez, Taylor Cummings and Amanda Lara also scored a combined 14 points. Other leaders included Kirk with six rebounds, Madison Cornell and Medovitch with five rebounds apiece and Malori Minjares with three rebounds.
Medovitch was the standout over Foothill with a team leading nine points and 13 rebounds. Lara had seven points, Watts four points and Kirk three points to round out the scoring. Hall and Lara also each had a pair of blocked shots.
