Warriors will host a pair of basketball playoff games tonight

Highway closures due to the snow storm earilier this week forced the postponement of  a scheduled playoff game for Tehachapi's boys basketball team. The game will be played tonight at 5 p.m.

It will precede the No. 3 girls CIF Division III quarterfinal playoff game vs. No.6 Shafter that will tip-off on at 7 p.m. in the THS gym as scheduled.

In the final tune-up prior to the Division III playoffs, the Warriors ended the regular season last week with a winning record, led by a 56-28 victory over Foothill and a 49-38 win over North. In the victory over Foothill, Ryan Flick had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Micah Fjeld also had 10 points and Isaiah Johnson, Andrew Borst, Chris Llamas, Jonny Saavedra, Dakota Medovitch, Andrew Baquerizo and Nathan Hedberg combined for 31 points.

Mountain Basketball also had a 76-58 loss to Garces in the league finale. Johnson led the team in scoring with 20 points, followed by Ryan Flick with nine points and Scaggs with six points.

Lady Warriors victorious

Meanwhile, the No. 3 seeded Tehachapi girls basketball team tonight defeated No. 14 San Joaquin Memorial, 59-56.

Tehachapi will host No. 6 Shafter on Thursday in the THS gym at 7 p.m.
