All four levels of Tehachapi Youth Football are nearing the end of the regular season and so far have turned in strong results against opponents around the Bakersfield area.
After losing their first two games of the year against Southeast (34-0) and Garces (38-0), the varsity Tomahawks stormed back to win games against the Southern Ravens (20-7), Mira Monte Pride (12-6) and Farwest Titans (23-12) before losing to Southwest (46-0) last Saturday afternoon.
The junior varsity Tomahawks have turned in the most impressive results so far on the year, sporting a 5-1 record with wins over Garces (14-6), Southern (32-0), Mira Monte (12-0) and Farwest (32-0), with their only loss coming against Southwest (12-10).
The Sophomore Tomahawks recorded a trio of shutouts in September with wins over Garces (28-0), Southern (40-0) and Mira Monte (16-0), dropping close contests to Southeast (28-14) and Farwest (14-8).
The freshmen Tomahawks also won against Garces (22-0), Southern (22-7) and Mira Monte (36-8), losing games to Southeast (24-0), Farwest (28-8) and Southwest (36-12).
Tehachapi will have their final regular season game of the year this Saturday in Bakersfield against the Central Grizzlies. All four contests will be played at GEYF Field No. 1, with the freshmen game starting at 9 a.m., the sophomores 11 a.m., the junior varsity at 1 p.m. and the varsity at 3 p.m.
