Sometimes in order to win, it takes patience and the least amount of mistakes to come away triumphant.
That's exactly what Tammy Gore and Annette Peck had and did, rising above 24 other golfers who competed in the 36th annual Women's President's and Vice President's Cup Tournament on June 26-27, at Oak Tree Country Club in Bear Valley Springs.
Twenty-six contenders entered the two-day event, with 18 challenging for the President's Cup and eight for the Vice President's Cup. Up from 22 competitors a year ago.
Gore clinched this year's 18-hole President's Cup with a net total of 147, shooting rounds of 71 and 76, while Peck took home the 9-hole Vice President's Cup with a net total of 84.
Flight winners were: Linda Cross, President's Cup first flight low gross, 175, and Dee Grayson , low net, 148.
Connie Shobe, the 2013 President's Cup winner, walked away with second flight low gross, 207, and Lanie Sebastian, low net, 150.
Marie Scammon took the Vice President's Cup low gross, 134, and Leslie Craven low net, 85.
All the winners were acknowledged for their accomplishments at a luncheon on the Mulligan Room patio immediately following the tournament.
The two cup winners will receive their major individual awards at the club's annual awards luncheon.
