The beginning of two-a-day practices at Tehachapi High can only mean one thing. Football season will soon be upon us.

The Warrior's football schedule will be status quo in 2013, with the non-league schedule identical from last season. Tehachapi will face off against Exeter, Burroughs, Liberty, Arvin and West in the first five games and follow up with a second year stint in the Southeast Yosemite League against East, Highland, North, Foothill and Garces.

As reported earlier in the year, Tehachapi's membership in the SEYL will end after the 2013-2014 season. Starting in 2014-2015, Tehachapi will join the South Yosemite League with East, Golden Valley, Ridgeview, Independence and West.

But for this year, the SEYL will be at the forefront of Mountain Football's mind, leading up to a showdown with league power Garces in week 10.

In the preseason, the Warriors will have an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 17, at Coy Burnett Field. The scrimmage will start at approximately 8 a.m. after the conclusion of team pictures. Fans are welcome to attend the free admission scrimmage.

The following week, Tehachapi will travel to Bakersfield for its official scrimmage against South Bakersfield on Aug. 23, starting at 5 p.m. The non-league season will begin at home against Exeter on Aug 30.
