Warrior Baseball shut out by the Burros

Mountain Baseball recorded just two hits in a 4-0 road loss against Burroughs last Tuesday afternoon.

Tehachapi (1-5) had hits from Nash Franko and Davin Domingo but the Warrior offense could not get going in the road defeat.

Steven Nielsen led the team in putouts with seven recorded, followed by Reid Feeley with six on the afternoon.

Cade Temple pitched just over five innings, recording seven strikeouts.

This past Monday in the final game of the Terrio Therapy Spring Classic, Tehachapi lost a 7-3 decision to Frontier.

The Warriors scored three runs in the top of the second inning to take a 3-1 lead, but Frontier surged ahead with six unanswered runs to edge the Warriors.

Justin Amparan recorded a three-run homerun in the second inning to lead the offense. David Carter also went 2-3 with a runs scored, followed by Eric Johnson, Nielsen and Franko recording hits.

Ryan Hanzel pitched four innings against the Titans and recorded a strikeout. Brandon Ursua pitched two innings, striking out three batters.

Tehachapi had a double-header against Taft this past Monday and those highlights will be available in next week's Tehachapi News. The Warriors will next be in action this upcoming Tuesday, Mar. 18, at Frazier Mountain. The game will be in Lebec and the first pitch will be thrown at 3:15 p.m.
