Mountain Softball was engaged in a pitching duel this past week against defending CIF Division IV section champion Taft, losing a pair of contests to Taft, 2-0 and 1-0.
Hannah Grimes recorded the lone hit for Tehachapi (5-5-1) in the 2-0 defeat. Mariah Godde gave up only two earned runs in the loss, recording five strikeouts overall.
In the 1-0 loss, Danay Lee recorded a hit for the Lady Warriors and Godde shined in the pitching circle, recording no earned runs on five hits, striking out 10 batters.
The varsity squad will be in action again this weekend in the Wasco Tournament and will be at home again next Monday against Rosamond. The home game against the Roadrunners will start at 4 p.m.
