Tehachapi United Church of Christ interim Pastor Donella Silveira opened this Palm Sunday service with the handing out of palm leaves to religious followers as they drove into the church's parking lot. Vehicles then lined up and proceeded to caravan through the streets of Tehachapi, their palms waving before they returned to the church parking lot where they could listen virtually on their cell phones for the remainder of the Palm Sunday service.

Pastor Donella tells her virtual audience the story behind the religious significance of Palm Sunday. Jesus arrival in the city of Jerusalem and his death while there, will lead us to one of our holiest of days, Easter. “Easter day was brought about by his resurrection, and is therefore the greatest day in the world,” said the Pastor Donella.
