Houchin Community Blood Bank’s Yessica Diaz-Conti joined city officials for the latest TehachaPod to talk about the importance of blood donations during the COVID-19 crisis.
During the episode, Diaz-Conti shared a personal story about a critical blood donation recently in Kern County. In addition, she talked about where the donations of blood, platelets and plasma are used.
On Thursday, June 18 from 2 to 6 p.m., the next blood drive will be held adjacent to the Farmer’s Market in downtown Tehachapi. The city of Tehachapi has hosted five blood drives since the beginning of the pandemic, collaborating with the Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District.
