Angelina Marie Carmen Betz, May 3, 1994 - May 21, 2020

Angelina Marie Carmen Betz, born May 3, 1994 in Lancaster, Calif., passed tragically on Thursday, May 21, 2020.

Angelina was born in Lancaster, Calif., and graduated from Tehachapi High School where she left long-lasting impressions on her peers and teammates. Angelina focused primarily on advancing her career after high school, given opportunities at places like Marriott Hotels where she was able to bring her light and laugh to guests, coworkers and friends.

Outside of her professional life, Angelina’s passions included expressing her thoughts through eloquent poetry, taking photos with her friends and of herself while reflecting on life, and more than anything once she became an Auntie — her love for her niece Mercy.

Angelina had a kind soul and an intense love for others. She was a light in this world and made a massive impact in the lives of those around her. She saved people, both spiritually and physically — Angelina wanted nothing more than others’ happiness and comfort, looking out for loved ones and strangers alike. She always put others before herself.

Angelina is survived by her father, Nathan Betz; mother, Tina O’Connor; father, Mark O’Connor; sister, Serena Recalde and her husband, Mark; brother, Nathanael Betz Jr.; sister, Hayley O’Connor; grandmother, Irene Johnson; grandmother, Pat Betz; niece, Mercy Recalde; uncle and aunt, William and Tia Yates; and her extended family in Ireland.

Angelina will never be forgotten — her spirit and heart, her loud laughter and the way she’d belt everything she sang with every bit of herself, the way she covered her apartment in photos of her niece and even lifted others when she could barely lift herself. These memories will be cherished forever, and stories will be passed along through friends that are now family.

Services for Angelina were held privately. She was laid to rest at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Lancaster, Calif. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Wood Family Funeral Service in Tehachapi, Calif. Condolences can be made online at woodmortuary.net.
