Julie Tea, 1989-2021

It is with great sadness and shock that we announce the sudden death of Julie Tea. She died in Chicago on June 17, 2021.

Julie was born Jan. 15, 1989. Even as a child she was a caring individual and always showed great compassion for the suffering of others. She graduated from Tehachapi High School in 2007, and began training for a career in nursing. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 2011 with her B.S. in Nursing. Choosing further study, she enrolled in the University of San Francisco’s School of Nursing, completing her M.S. in Nursing in 2017.

Shortly thereafter, Julie moved to Chicago and became a nurse practitioner in the PCC Community Wellness Center, which provides care for students as well as the community at large. Julie survived the onslaught as COVID-19 swept through Chicago, leaving nurses overwhelmed and exhausted. Recently, she had reached her final rotations in mental health and drug addiction.

She is survived by her mother, Tiffany Tea, and her younger brother, Michael Tea, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be held in Fresno, Calif., on June 26, 2021.
