Once again our Kern County Fire Department did an amazing job on Sept. 9 when a fire broke out in the general Old Town area of Jeffrey Road. Along with the great pilots of our helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, the fire was knocked down in just a couple of hours.

It could have been a real mess with the winds blowing from the east, but our local heroes saved the day once again. Thank you all so much.
